What are NTDs?
Underreported and underfunded diseases that mainly affect LMIC where the burden is high.
Where does transmission of NCDs often occur?
In extremely poor areas and those ravaged by conflict and disruption
What do these diseases to to the communities?
Reduction in economic capacity, impairment of child growth and keeps them in poverty
Why is it hard to tackle them?
Difficult to manage, burden poorly understood, lack of control tools, low research investments, rural and hard to help
What does One health entail?
The linkage between human, animal and ecosystem health
What does globalization lead to?
Increase in epidemics
How many percent of epidemics are zoonics?

What are the key factors of transmission of parasitic zoonoses?
Contact with animals, water/sanitation/hygiene, food inspection, host immune systems, presence of vector, climate
Why is burden hard to quantifying in terms of one health?
How do we quantify DALYs for animals and possible economic and environmental lost
