needs work: TOPHAT Flashcards
- F-PLN
L6:Destination Airport,
R1: Arrival
Approach: if required, select VIA/STAR/TRANS. if none, nothing
If ILS or LOC approach, select LS on EFIS control to display LOC ID/FREQ on PFD
Verify crossing altitudes and speed restrictions on MCDU
If already on radar vectors to final approach, sequence flight plan to expected TO waypoint.
- RAD/NAV
If flying a VOR NPA, hard tune one VOR to primary navaid.
Select VOR on EFIS controls to display RMI on ND.
This satisfies requirement to monitor raw data on VOR approach.
- PROG
R5: Insert expected rwy and appr (ie KJFK31L) to display accurate bearing and distance to runway.
Verify GPS PRIMARY in RC and ACCUR HIGH for nav accuracy.
- PERF
DES PAGE – If descent phase is selected, SPEED must be selected.
L6: Activate approach phase: Only select if passing through 10,000’ and SPEED is Selected or if in training environment as we are always returning to land. We will normally complete TOPHAT during cruise prior to TOD.
R6: NEXT PHASE until APPR phase is displayed to input data.
Left side of APPR PERF PAGE – Altimeter, Temp, Winds (winds are needed for GS MINI)
Right side of APPR PERF PAGE –
R2: BARO.
R3 or R4: Make sure big for chosen configuration. If using CONF 3, select LDG FLAPS 3 on GPWS panel.
select NEXT PHASE and on GO AROUND PERF page, ensure that THR RED / ACC and ENG OUT ACC are 1,000’ AFE.
- FUEL PRED
L6: check MIN DEST FOB is enough for for arrival and approach
check R6: EXTRA/TIME for fuel awareness
- SEC F-PLN
L1: copy active
or if circling or approach not aligned with runway, build a secondary flight plan
Insert the expected runway into secondary and sequence it to the proper TO waypoint
Appr min: ILS
DA
APPR min: RNAV (GPS) with DA(H)
DA (Allegiant does not have permission to do DA at this time) currently we are authorized only to DDA (MDA+50)
APPR min: Circling Approach
MDA (for type rating) (note: level off 100’ higher)
AAY limit 1000/3 or published circling minimum if higher than 1000’
APPR min: All others
DDA (MDA+50)
Brief order:
-Arrival Route with crossing altitudes, speed restrictions, transitions to final.
-Approach from Jepp plate
-Missed Approach plan (remember to set lowest altitude restriction for go around)
-Runway exit plan, expected taxi routing, hold shorts, and hot spots.
‘?’-Landing configuration (flaps 3 or full), required landing distance and available landing distance, rwy conditions, use of reversers, auto brake setting. PF will set desired autobrake setting at this point.
‘?’-Special considerations including ECAM status messages
