Midline neck lump in patient under 20 years old.
Dermoid cyst
What is this a presentation of?
Midline neck lump which moves on protruding the tongue, smooth and painless, comes and goes.
Thyroglossal cyst
What is this a presentation of?
Midline neck lump that moves upwards on swallowing, does not move upwards on tongue protrusion.
Thyroid swelling
What is this a presentation of?
Submandibular lump in patient under 20 years old, firm and tender, self-limiting.
Reactive lymphadenopathy
What is this a presentation of?
Submandibular lump in patient over 20 years old, firm and non-tender, fever, night sweats, weight loss.
Malignant lymphadenopathy
What is this a presentation of?
Anterior triangle lump in patient under 20 years old, firm and tender, self-limiting.

What is this a presentation of?
Anterior triangle lump under anterior border of SCM, smooth and painless, does not move with tongue protrusion, comes and goes, early adulthood.
Branchial cysts (FNA - cholesterol crystals)

Anterior triangle lump in superioposterior angle, patient over 40 years old.
Parotid tumour
What is this a presentation of?
Pulsatile anterior triangle lump.
Carotid aneurysm
What is this a presentation of?
Posterior triangle lump, more common in adult female, may be some neurological symptoms (compression of brachial plexus) or Raynaud’s (subclavian artery compression).
Cervical rib
What is this a presentation of?
Posterior triangle lump which herniates through ‘Killian’s dehiscence’, dysphagia with gurgling, regurgitation of undigested food, often in elderly men.
Pharyngeal pouches
What is this a presentation of?
Posterior triangle lump which transilluminates, usually on left, evident at birth or by the age of 2.
