- Mid line or bilateral pain - more likely disc
- Regular pattern of motion loss - more likely z joint

Sensory - bilateral P&N, numbness in hands and/or feet
Motor - gait disturbance
Reflexes - DTR are hyper, +ve plantar responses and +ve Hoffmans
