Purpose of STAAT
STAAT supports fleet, regional Navy operational commanders and Marine Corps area and component commanders by providing vulnerability assessments (VA), training and assistance in meeting strategic objectives of the unified and, or component commanders. In this effort, STAAT is a key element of the NCIS strategic priority to “prevent terrorism, protect secrets, and reduce crime” worldwide.

What is MTAC and it’s purpose?
NCIS shall maintain, direct, and operate the DON Multiple Threat Alert Center (MTAC) to provide Indications and Warning of terrorist, foreign intelligence, cyber, and criminal threats to the DON and to generate related analysis and production on matters of interest to the Department.
What is CVAMP and use?
CORE VULNERABILITY ASSESSMENT MANAGEMENT PROGRAM.
All vulnerabilities identified through an integrated vulnerability assessment or selfassessments must be entered into the installation CVAMP account for consideration for possible funding to eliminate/mitigate the noted vulnerability.

These assessments contain an evaluation of the security and police forces; identification of weaknesses and vulnerabilities associated with the configuration of the port, hotel or airfield facility and surrounding terrain; and reference to HN agreements and the security measures allowed by HN, as well as narratives and photographs describing existing circumstances (e.g., low barriers, fencing, lights, access control, etc.); recommendations on how to deploy security measures and obtain additional local resources; and points of contact.
