- Army didn’t refuse to fire, like in Rome, as Hitler hoped
- Ludendorff let right wing party members who they’d trapped in the beer hall go home to their ‘worried wives’- Kahr called the army
- Ludendorff marched on to the centre- war hero- but the army didn’t join him
- Public didn’t rally + join Hitler
