The rise of German “volk” or people and desire for a homogenous population excluding foreigners
Volksgemeinschaft
“People’s Community” was used to unite people across class divides for national unity
Aryan - Race and Lebensraum
Social darwinism and stated that Germans belonged to the Aryan race and thus were entitled to lebensraum
Lebensraum- “living space” Hitler’s ambition for territorial expansion to allow for national existence and autarky (economic self-sufficiency)

- the basis of executive authority in the government of Nazi Germany
- meant that the word of the Fuhrer is above written law and secured Hitlers control over the army and combined armed forces
