WHY WERENT GERMANS BETTER OFF WITHOUT TRADE UNIONS
- Lost rights
- Couldn’t quit without governments permission
- Banned from striking
- Forced to work many hours
- KDF= provides awards that some still can’t afford
- Food cost more
- less food in shop—>’self-sufficient’ charged more money
WHY WAS HITLER YOUTH CREATED
Hitler could controlled everything about young people’s lives
Believer they’d grow up believing nazi ideas & being nazis—> never rebel
WHY DID NAZIS CONTROLLED THE SCHOOL SYSTEM
To brainwash them into loving him and the Nazi party
Used every subject for Nazi propaganda and beliefs
Brainwashed to think a certain way and believe set ideas
HOW DID NAZIS CONTROLLED THE EDUCATION SYSTEM
Textbooks rewritten so Nazi beliefs were taught as facts
All teachers joined ‘German Teachers League’- refused to join then they’d be sacked

HOW WERE UNIVERSITIES CONTROLLED BY NAZIs
1933-1934—> 15% lecturers of professors were replaced
1/3 for racial reasons + 1/2 political
Many leading academics left, eg Einstein
All students trained as a solider for a month
Professors were hand picked by Nazis
