Protection squad. Used terror and brute force to scare people into compliance

An unknown number of spies who would report on members of the public. Fear of Gestapo caused compliance

They were controlled by the Nazis, and would arrest anyone who acted against the regime

Judges were appointed by the Nazis. Trials were often unfair, and ,any were sentenced to death or concentration camps.
