A

Peel hoped bt removing them it would clear the way for the corn laws

The use of the navy rather than customs officials to enforce Salutary neglect was very unpopular and led to rebellion which led to the repeal

New merchants in Parliament after 1832 reform act and middle class voters pushes for the repeal to allow increased growth in global market shares
