Earths unowned natural resources. Ex océans, atmosphere
Ecosystems
The environment, living and non living things working together and living together.
Deforestation
Removal of trees for land use for something else
Ecological footprint
The impact left on the environment, the total resources being used to sustain something or someone
Biocapacity
How many resources are available for human use is limited or finite, how many resources are available to sustain life
Food chain
The link between food, from the sun’s energy all the way up to the light predators.
Sustainable development
Could last forever, doesn’t consume resources faster that they can recover, don’t use finite resources, growing or planning while considering sustainability.
Carbon footprint
How much carbon is used to sustain something or someone
Biogeochemical cycles
Natural cycling of chemicals around the earth
Hydrosphere
Part of the earth composed of water this includes clouds, oceans and seas etc.
Lithosphere
The solid outer crust of the earth, while the mantle and core comprise the interior of the earth. Examples would be rocks, igneous rocks from the ocean floor.
Biosphere
The life zone of the earth which includes all living organisms, including humans. Ex trees, animals and humans .
Atmosphere
The atmosphere is the mixture of gases surrounding the earth and other planets.
