NATO in Afghanistan
A
- NATO is leading a Resolute Support, a non-combat mission which provides training, advice and assistance to Afghan security forces and institutions on the 1 January 2015.
- Resolute Support is a follow-mission to the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF). ISAF was in NATO control from August 2003 to December 2014.
- Key functions: support planning, programming and budgeting; assuring transparency, accountability and oversight; supporting the principles of rule of law and good governance; supporting the establishment and sustainment of force generation, recruiting, training, managing and development of personnel.

NATO in Kosovo
A
-NATO’s Kosovo Force (KFOR) has 3500 allied troops.
-Entered Kosovo in June 1999 to end widespread violence and halt the humanitarian disaster. KFOR maintain a strong presence throughout the territory.
-After Kosovo declaration of independence in Feb 2008, KFOR still remains on the basis of the UN Security Council.
