2. Something happens to disrupt the equilibrium
3. The characters recognise the disruption and plan ways of resolving the problem
4. The characters try to repair the problem, overcoming obstacles in their way.
5. A new equilibrium is achieved - but not quite the same as before, things have changed and/or people have learned something.
