NAMP Flashcards
What is the objective of the NAMP?
To achieve and continually improve aviation material readiness
Who is in charge of the NAMP?
CNO
MO
Maintenance officer responsible
To the CO for mission accomplishment
AMO
Assistant Maintenance officer- assists MO in performance of duties
MMCO
Maintenance Master Chief Petty Officer- senior enlisted for maintenance department
QAO
Quality assurance officer- ensures personnel are assigned to perform QA functions
MCO
Material Control Officer- handles finance and material requisition
What are the basic responsibilities of maintenance/production control?
To take the actions necessary to retain or restore material or equipment to serviceable condition condition with a mínimum expenditure of resources
Explain the 3 levels of maintenance
O level- organizational, performed by an operating unit on a day to day basis
I level- intermediate, enhance and sustain combat readiness and mission capability of supported activities
D level- depot, ensure continued flight integrity of airframes and flight systems during subsequent operational periods
What are the 2 types of maintenance described in the NAMP ?
Rework and upkeep
Explain upkeep maintenance
Preventive, restorative or additive work performed on aircraft, equipment and SE
Explain rework maintenance
Restorative or additive work performed on aircraft, aircraft equipment and aircraft SE
What are the types of upkeep maintenance inspections
1) turnaround
2) daily
3) special
4) conditional
5) phase
6) acceptance
7) transfer
RCM
Reliability centered maintenance- ensures that assets continue to do what their users require in their present operating context
ASPA
Aircraft servicing period adjustment
PMI
Periodic maintenance interval
FCF
Funtional check flight
What is the purpose of functional check flight?
To determine whether the airframe, power plant, accessories and equipment are functioning IAW predetermined standards
Define management
A general term to denote central executive direction and control of work by an individual or organization
Define maintenance
The function of retaining material in or restoring it to a serviceable condition
Define maintenance management
Process of planning, organizing, staffing, directing and controlling organic industrial resources required for physically performing equipment maintenance
Explain Safe for Flight
Aircraft permitted to launch
Define MMP
Monthly Maintenance Plan. Provides scheduled control of the predictable maintenance workload
Explain the aircraft logbook
Detailed service record maintained for each individual aircraft
Who is authorized to release aircraft safe for flight?
MO, MMCO, MCO, or other people designated in writing by the CO
What is the concept of QA
The prevention of occurrence of defects
Explain QAR
Maintenance personnel assigned to QA
Explain CDQAR
Assigned to production WC’s, same as QAR
Explain CDI
Inspect all work and comply with all required QA inspections during maintenance
What are the programs of QA
1) CTPL
2) maintenance safety
3) audits
4) SE misuse/abuse
5) aircraft confined spaces
6) NMDRP
Discuss the elements of a successful FOD program
Identify, correct, eliminate casual factors
State the primary objective of the tool control program
Rapidly account for all tolls after completing a maintenance task
Explain the procedures for broken/missing tool report
1) Stop work/ look for tools
2) QA/PC informed
3) initiate missing tool report
Discuss the fuel surveillance program
Fuel samples will be monitored/sampled. A record of when and which fuel tanks were sampled and maintained
State the function and responsibilities of material control
Meant to provide material support to their cognizant organizations and coordinate indirect material requirements to ensure material is ordered is the material required and delivered to WC’s
