56
Q

Turnaround Inspection

A

Conducted between flights to ensure the integrity of flight to verify proper servicing and to detect degradation

Valid for a period of 24 hours from time completed, provided no flight and no other maintenance servicing occurs during this period

Does not require sampling

Not required between repetitive flight evolutions interspersed with ground periods

Turnarounds are more restrictive than daily

57
Q

Daily Inspection

A

Conducted to inspect to a greater depth than turnaround

Valid for 72 hours from completion date and time, provided no flight occurs or maintenance action other than servicing has been performed

Aircraft may be flown for 24 hours without another daily. The 24 hours cannot exceed the 72 hours unless the expiration occurs during a mission.

Turnarounds are not included in daily and must be executed separately

CO’s pay authorize PIC to conduct inspection and sign for it while operating away from home without qualified maintenance personnel for periods not exceeding 72 hours

58
Q

Special Inspections

A

An inspection performed at the time a reporting custodian accepts a newly assigned aircraft, from any source including an offsite depot facility

61
Q

Zonal Inspection

A

A general inspection of a specific area of aircraft at a scheduled interval. For leaks, frayed cables, cracks, corrosion, or physical damage.
