How do check to see if a KW already exists in your KW list?
Open the ‘KW list’ in the processing panel, at the top their is a filter KWs search bar.
How do you search for images with multiple keywords?
> Filter/ Search bar
click the ‘Text’ option and = keywords
Contains all
(kw1), (kw2)
i.e. separate kws with a comma (with or w/o space - both work.
How do you delete redundant entries from your KW list? (individually and multiple)
Individually: just RC and delete
Multiple: select all* to be deleted THEN at top of KW list, click the MINUS icon.
*It appears selecting all means just click then ctrl+click to select multiple KWs.
The *** Tool is another fun way to add keywords to one or multiple photos in
Lightroom.
Where is the icon for this? Where do you activate the icon if it’s not showing here?

It’s on the tool bar.
If not showing, activate via the Tool Bar menu (triangle RH of tool bar)
It is possible to use the * Tool to paint other characteristics besides keywords so just
make sure that keywords or otherwise is selected on the ***.

How do you use the Paint Tool to add keywords to multiple pics?
Click the Painter icon.
Make sure it’s set to ‘keywords’.
Enter the keywords to apply in the painter ‘values’ box in the RH side of the tool bar.
Click and drag across the photos in the Grid View.
How do you use the Paint Tool as an eraser? (2 points)
- Click on the ‘Painter’ tool.
- Specify in the painter (values) box which KWs u want to erase (i.e. populate the painter values box);
The above two steps are the same as applying KWs to pics.
- To remove added keywords, press Alt (Windows) or Option (Mac OS) to change the Painter Tool to an eraser, and draw over the images you want to remove the KW(s) from.
When in the workflow is it best to apply KWs?
RE: in my view, add KWs to original pics before making any virtual copies and adding to collections, so you don’t have to repeat this task, it’s done.
But after initial run thru and deletions.
