A
A muscle or group of muscles supplied by a single spinal nerve

How long to hold contractions for a myotome test?
A
3-5 seconds isometrically

What is a positive myotome test?
A
marked weakness in muscle strength
difference between left and right

what does a positive myotome test indicate?
A
impingement of the motor efferent nerve root or the mixed spinal nerve as it exits the vertebral foramen.

what would global myotome weakness indicate
A
a more serious issue e.g. tumour impinging on multiple levels or possible upper motor neurone involvement e.g. stroke or multiple sclerosis.
