what is the most common cardiomyopathy
dilated cardiomyopathy
causes of dilated cardiomyopathy
majority are idiopathic familial IHD/HTN viral alcohol / drug abuse
features of dilated cardiomyopathy
dilated chambers

management of dilated cardiomyopathy
as for HF
- ACEI + beta blockers
- loop diuretics
what is the inheritance of hypertrophic obstructive cariomyopathy
autosomal dominant
leading cause of sudden death in young, healthy patients
hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy
signs and symptoms of hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy
SOB, syncope, palpitations - typically following exercise jerky pulse double apex beat ejection systolic murmur ECG -LVH, deep Q waves
