How to get major chords?
For all major chords, the next note you add is four semitones above the root. The last note is 3 semitones above the middle note.

For all minor chords, the next note you add is three semitones above the root. The last note is 4 semitones above the middle note.

Syncopation:
a rhythmic device common in many musical styles, particularly Latin American music, as well as Western pop. It is when the composer change the usual stress of the beats in a bar. Syncopation can be created by placing an accent on a weak beat (off-beat), or by placing a rest on a strong beat.
