primary = age related (women due to hormonal issues -estrogen- later in life)
secondary= medical conditions/medications (hyperthyroidism, hyperparathyroidism) corticosteroids, anticonvulsants, heparin, thyroid hormone

age chronic illness long term use of corticosteriods, chemo, radiation malnutrition, alcoholic, obese IV drug user
