Connective tissue
Tissue that supports and gives structure to other tissues and organs in the body
Cartilage
Soft cushioning substance which covers the end of the bones. Acts as a shock absorber and reduces rubbing of the bone surfaces
Flexors
Muscle that bends a body part by decreasing the angle at a join
Extensors
A muscle that extends or straightens a body part by increasing the angle joint
Skeletal tissue
Supports structure for the body. One of the three significant ones
Smooth muscle tissue
In the stomach and intestines, helps with digestion and nutrient collection
Cardiac tissue
Tissue that is in the heart and makes it keep pumping and circulating blood
Joint
Place where bones meet
Ligament
Tough, fibrous tissue that connects one bone to another one.
Muscle
Responsible for movement
Tendon
Tough, fibrous that attach muscle to bone.
