Flat triangular, covers upper back and part of the neck and shoulders, aids in elevating the shoulder blades
Trapezius
Flat, triangular covers the low back, aids in swinging the arms
Latissimus dorsi
Extends across the front of the chest, assist in swinging the arms
Pectoralis major and minor
Under the arm, helps in lifting the arm and in breathing
Serratus anterior
Triangle shaped, covers the shoulder, lifts or turns the arm
Deltoid
Primary muscle in the front of the upper arm, raises the forearm
Biceps
Extends the length of the upper arm to the forearm, controls forward movement of the forearm
Triceps
Group of 3 muscles found at the base of the thumb-Controls the movement of the thumb
Thenar eminence
Group of 3 muscles found at the base of the little finger- controls motion in little finger
Hypothenar eminence
Located in the upper arm, flexes forearm at the elbow joint
Brachialis
Muscle between the upper arm and forearm, flexes the forearm
Brachioradialis
Located palm side down of the forearm below the elbow, rotates the forearm palm down
Pronator teres
Flexes the wrist
Palmaris longus
Flexes the fingers
Flexor digitorum profundus
Extends the fingers

muscle located above the ulna bone ,flexes and moves the wrist inward

Covers the front of the shin, bends the foot upward and inward

Back of the leg attached to the lower rear surface of the heel, pulls the foot down

Upper portion of the fibula from just below the knee to the heel, bends the foot down
Soleus
Originates in the upper two-thirds of the outer fibula, bends the foot and the ankle down and out
Peroneus longus
Originates in the lower third of fibula, bends the foot down and out
Peroneus brevis
Muscle on the inside of the back of the lower leg, curls all toes except big
Flexor digitorum longus
Outside of the lower leg, bends the foot up and extends the toes
Extensor digitorum longus
Largest tendon in the body at the back of the leg
Achilles tendon
Along the base of the small toe, flexes the joint of the small toe
Flexor digiti minimi brevis
Across the ball of the foot beneath the toes, flexes the toes
Flexor digitorum brevis
Runs along the interior border of the foot, moves the big toe away from the other toes
Abductor hallucis
Runs along the outside border of the foot connects to the heel moves the smallest toe away from other toes
