Lateral 1/3 inguinal ligament, anterior 2/3 iliac crest, thoracolumbar fascia, inner surface of lower 6 ribs and costal cartilages
to the linea alba and pubic crest

lateral 2/3 inguinal ligamnet, anterior 2/3 iliac crest and thoracolumbar fasica
to inferior border of lower 4 ribs, linea alba and pubic crest
Attachments of the: external oblique
outer borders of lower 8 ribs and costal cartiliges
to the anterior 2/3 iliac crest and linea alba to pubic tubercle
Attachments of the: rectus abdominis
anterior surface of pubic symphysis and pubic crest
to the xiphoid porces and costal cartilage of ribs 5, 6 and 7
Function of the: rectus abdominus
trunk flexion and side flexion the same side
Function of the: external oblique
rotation to the opposite side
