origin: T12-L5 vertebrae (PM), Iliac Fossa (Ili.)
insertion: lesser trochancter of femur
innervation: L1-L3 ventral rami (PM), femoral n. (L2-L4) (Ili.)
action: hip flexion (strongest)
Quadriceps Femoris:
Rectus Femoris:
Vastus Lateralis:
Vastus Intermedius:
Vastus Medialis
origin: straight head- anterior inferior iliac spine (RF), reflected head- superior aspect of the acetabulum (RF). Femur (VL, VI,VM)
insertion: patella and tibial tuberosity via the quadriceps tendon and patellar ligament
innervation: femoral n. (L2-L4)
action: knee extension, hip flexion (weak, RF only)
Sartorius
origin: anterior superior iliac spine (ASIS) of ilium
insertion: pes anserinus (anterior slip) on the medial aspect of the tibie
innervation: femoral n. (L2-L4)
action: hip flexion, abduction of thigh, lateral rotaion of thigh, knee flexion
