insertion: extensor expansion of digits 2-5
innervation: deep ulnar n. (lumbricals 3 & 4), median n. (lumbricals 1 & 2)
action: flexion of the MP joint (3 & 4), extension of the IP joint via the extensor expansion (1 & 2)
