by goni measurement of prom
two joint muscles are assessed
assess requires muscle lengthening of the muscle across one joint and seeing ROM available at the second
Bicep MLT
starting get ROM of bicep normally
then hang off table and slowly go in to elbow extension with arm pronated
Triceps MLT
starting get ROM of Tricep normally
then have elbow at full extension with arm supinated and should fully flexed; then slowly flex elbow until tension
Pec major MLT
lie supine with hands behind head and relax
then measure elbows off table
Pec min MLT
lying supine with arms by side measure from acromion to table
more than 1 inch is considered tight
Thomas Test
Sitting at edge of table lean back grabbing one leg relaxed and hugging it to chest; let other leg relax off of table
See if hip is parallel to ground - hip flexors
see if knee is flexed to at least 80 - quads - rectus
and see if hip AB/ER - sartorius
AD - pectineus ADDL ADDB
Hamstring MLT
SLR
lying supine lift pt leg straight up keeping knee straight
normal is 70-80
Hamstring Popliteal MLT
flex hip into 90 then starting with knee full flex slowly extend until tightened
Rectus femoris MLT
Ely Test lying prone slowly flex knee measure angle normal is 90
Ober Test
measures TFL
take leg with knee bent and bring it up and behind the pt while they are side lying then slowly lower their knee to the table
Modified ober
keeps leg straight
Gastrocnemius MLT
pt supine with knee extended and foot neutral
dorsiflex the ankle and measure
hip FL for walking
