WBC cancer of mature B-lymphocyte
-excess of antibodies in the blood which clogs up vessels
-increased protein levels

A
Excessive cells reduce the production of RBCs, platelets & WBCs

What do myeloma cells lead to?
A
anemia and infection risk

What are the risk factors for MM?
A
-radiation exposure
-chemical exposure
-infection with Human Herpesvirus

What are common assessment findings?
A
asymptomatic
positive finding of serum paraprotein
**fatigue
**bone pain
**bruising
anemia
fractures
bacterial infections
kidney problems
