ToM fails to account for non-social aspects. WCC theory proposes to explain these (Frith & Happe, 1994) 16 ASD participants which differed in ToM performance were tested on homographic reading and all showed a relative fail to process context-dependent meaning therefore showing WCC regardless of ToM.

Found ToM was inversely related to speed on Embedded figures tasks in G.P. Also found that weak ToM was linked to WCC after accounting for verbal mental ages. This is interpreted as a relationship between the individual differences, suggesting multiple account might be required to explain the multiple deficits.
