A

Prolonged pr interval, widened qrs, High t wave leading to ventricular fibrillation

What is the immediate/emergency treatment of hyperkalaemia?

A

Reduce K+ effect on the heart by giving IV calcium gluconate to stabilise the cardiac myocyte membranes 10ml 10% IV 5 mins
Shift K+ into ICF by dextrose and insulin IV 10 units in 250ml 10% dextrose

Remove excess K+ by dialysis in refractory
