MSK- FC Flashcards
Back pain, gastric bypass surgery, depression, working as a night manager in convenient store. possible cause for back patin? X-ray finding?
osteomalacia
- gastric bypass surgery: lack of vitamin D absorption (less lipase)
- night occupation: no sun exposure
X-ray finding: inappropriate vertebral bodies due to inadequate mineralization

dilated vessels in chest (subclavian)
swelling/atrophy of hand and muscles
What is Military posture test (a.k.a. costoclavicular syndrome test)? positive sign indicates what?
radial pulse is measured while arm extending backward and depressed.
positive sign is absence of pulse upon depression. It indicates thoracic outlet syndrome
glucorcorticoid inhibits what two enzymes? Each enzyme is responsible for what reaction?
phopholipase A2 : generation of arachidonic acid from membrane phospholipids
NK-kB: which activates COX-2
- glucorcorticoid blocks synthesis of arachidonic acid and COX2 ingeneral
What are three ligaments on lateral side of foot? which one is susceptible to get injured during inversion?
ATFL- anterior talofibular ligament
PTFL- posterior talofibular ligament
CFL- calcaneofibular ligament
ATFL is most commonly injured during inversion
: ATF- Always Tears First
