overview of early classical mvt 2
A
- haydn 2 - 3 movement symphony with simple harmonic structure, 2nd mvt is in the dominant
- CPE Bach symphony e minor - 3 movements with the 2nd mvt in the relative major.
- Stamitz op 3 no 2 - loose rounded binary form, without any repeat, whilst later classical and romantic symphonists began to write slower, this mvt is a relaxed andante in the subdominant key with a melody plus accompaniment which is very typical of the EC.

A
- haydn 104, tripartite structure, at the start relies on intervalic idea. the clarinet and timpani only play for 10 and 15 bars very typical
- Mozart no 41(Jupiter) - typical late classical mvt, andante sonata form, also has reduced instrumentation typical for the mvt to be relaxed in the subdominant key of f major.

- Berlioz symphony fantastique - a waltz with 2 harps
- Schubert no 3 - minuet/ scherzo (usually 3rd mvt)
