what pharmacological advice can be given?
paracetamol if in distress
bonjela on mouth ulcers (if over 4 months)
difflam spray

5th disease/erythema infectiosum

parovirus b-19
slapped cheek
how is infection spread?
via blood transfusion
respiratory secretions
bone marrow transplants

how long is slapped cheek infectious for?
10 days pre rash until it appears
slapped cheek
what are the common symptoms?
- prodrome
- slapped cheek rash
- rash on extremities
- arthropathy in adults
slapped cheek
what is the best course of treatment?
rest
fluid intake
antipyretics
moisturiser/antihistamines for itchy skin
