A
When a conductor such as a wire is carrying a current it experiences a force in a magnetic field

How does a loudspeaker work
A
- cone with a coil of wire wrapped around one end
- coil of wire connected to an alternating current electrical supply
- permanent magnet goes inside coil of wire
- as current passes through coil it generates magnetic field
- magnetic fields either attract or repel
- produces resultant force which causes cone to move
= generate sound waves

Can change frequency that the cone vibrates
Higher frequency produces higher pitch sound

= increases volume of sound
