what is performance-related pay
Performance-related pay is where an employee’s salary or bonus is linked to their performance, where employees are rewarded for good performance.
what are common methods of performance-related pay
- pay increase: pay is tied directly to performance
- bonuses: often a one-off payment for reaching a target
- commissions: receiving a percentage of a sale
- share plans: receiving part ownership in the company
what is career advancement
career advancement is where an employee has the opportunity to take on greater responsibility in the business through the use of promotions
what is investment in training
this is where a business invests in an employee’s training. training is the process of improving the skills and knowledge of the employee so they can perform the job to a higher level.
what is support?
support is where the employees are provided with the resources they need to perform their role.

- mentoring

what is a sanction
sanction is where employees receive penalties or is disciplined for poor performance or behaviour.

- demotions
- loss of benefits
- disciplinary action (e.g. written warning)
