Motivation Qs Flashcards

1
Q
  1. What aspects of your previous roles did you particularly enjoy? Please be specific
A
  • Delta Force / HWB – leading a team, creating a customer experience, high workload, adrenaline, improved communication skills by working with customers (an informed wait doesn’t feel like as long a wait), problem solving and thinking on your feet (300 customers but not enough fields).
  • Rainbow Lodge / YHA – working with customers from all over the world, improved questioning & listening skills to be able to give effective food and travel plan advice.
  • Catering – fast paced all day, tight deadlines, customers, very process based.
  • Remarketing – Introduction to a whole new career, everything was new, taught a lot, trusted.
  • Asset Risk – processes, high workload, ownership of projects (increased my organisation skills, notes file), attention to detail required (so it put me ahead in my team), investigation into errors (communicating what I found, why it is a problem, approaching people tactfully), training staff.

Q
  1. What aspects of your previous roles did you not particularly enjoy? Please be specific
A
  • DF/HWB – low staff numbers (taught me to prioritize recruitment), at first I believed in having a set plan & sticking to it (learned to re-evaluate priorities regularly). Long hours (learned to streamline processes & my way of working).
  • Catering – no progression, no room for improvement.
  • Asset Risk – I’ve made real efforts to work towards strengthening the team’s performance, but at the cost of my own development.
