A simple strategy for providing info
Ask- tell- ask Ask or elicit- would it be okay to tell you about.... Or what do you already know about.... Tell about third party or provide info Some people find... The research shows.... Offer at least 3 options or info., Ask for the patient perspective What do you think?
Invite conversation about change
To encourage someone to consider making a change, to guide them to find personal motivation to change, engage them in a conversation about change.
People generally believe what they tell themselves vs whatbothers tell them.
Commitment to change is increased as they ( not you) talk about change
