Motion and Forces Flashcards
What is Velocity?
Speed in a particular direction.
What is Acceleration?
Speeding up, Rate of change of velocity.
What is Terminal Velocity?
Steady speed reached when weight and drag balance. Resultant force = 0N.
What is a Resultant Force?
Two forces are equal and opposite so the resultant force = 0N.
What is Friction?
The sum of all the forces acting on an object.
What is Work done?
( Mechanical)
A force that opposes the motion of a moving object.
What is Drag?
Energy, transferred when a force moves an object through a distance.
What is lift?
A force that resists motion through the air.
What is Upthrust?
A force that uses motion to make objects rise up.
What is Reaction or Normal Force?
Force A force that stops you from falling through the floor.
What is Speed?
Speed = Distance/Time
S = D/T
What are Moments?
Moments = Force x Distance.
M = F x D.
My Dead Fish or Mining For Diamonds.
What is Pressure?
Pressure = Force/Area.
P = F/A.
Friendly Pink Animal.
What is Density?
Density = Mass/Volume.
D = M/V.
My Vicious Dad.
