What are cells?
Cells are the smallest unit that can live on their own, and they make up all living organisms, and the tissues in our body.
What are the nine different specialist cells?
Sperm, Ovem ( egg ), Small intestine cells, Ciliated epithelial cells, Red blood cells, Root hair cells, palisade leaf cells, Muscle cells and the Nerve cells.
Are plant cells exactly the same as animal cells?
No
What is a Cell Membrane?
Controls the movement of substances in and out of the cell.
What is Cytoplasm?
Jelly-like substance where chemical reactions take place.
What is the Nucleus?
Carries genetic information and controls the cell.
What is the Mitochondria
Where respiration takes place.
What is the Cell Wall
Made of cellulose, provides support to the cell.
What is the Vacuole?
Contains cell sap.
What are the Chloroplasts?
Contains the green pigment chlorophyll, the site of photosynthesis.
What is the Tissue?
Something made from just one type of specialised cell.
What is the Organ?
Something made from different groups of specialised cells all working together.
What is the Organ System?
When a number of organs work together.
What is the Synovial Joint?
A freely moveable joint. Examples include the hip, shoulder, elbow and knee joint.
