Three common errors involving quality control
- Clerical (wrong name..)
- Random (variations found in glassware..)
- Systemic (gradual changing..)
Stain to see nucleus, cytoplasm, granules in WBCs
Romanoswky stain
Stain to see nuclear criteria, hienze bodies (it doesn’t stain the cytoplasm, only the nucleus of RBCs.
New methylene blue
Stain that helps identify fat. It’s an orange stain. You can mix with feces and other samples other than blood.
Sudan lll
Stain for microbiology. Tells us if its gram pos. or gram neg. and helpd the doctor see what kind of bacteria the animal is dealing with.
Gram
Stain used for gram stains that can’t tell using its gram pos. or gram neg.
KOH/ potassium hydroxide
Stain for fungal cultures. Helps identify fungal elements. This stain.
Lactophenol cotton blue
Stain that aids in diagnose of Protozoa, parasites that are on fecals. (It kills them though)
Lugols iodine
