Morbidity refers to ill health in an idivdual & levels of ill health within a population.
- Often expressed through Incidence & Prevalence.)
What are Morbidity Rates?
Morbidity rates refer to how many new/total cases of a particular disease or illness.
What is Burden Of Disease?
A measure of the impact of disease & Injury, specifically measuring the gap between ideal situations (Everyone dies of old age & is disease/injury free), and the current health status.

What does YLL stand for & what does it mean? (Can be general.)
YLL refers to Years of Life Lost, often in relation to premature death.
What does YLD stand for & What Health indicator does it relate to?
YLD stands for Years Lost due to Disease, illness or injury, it is related to morbidity.
What does DALY stand for?
DALY stands for Disability Adjusted Life Years.
How do you calculate DALY & how much is 1 DALY worth?
YLL (Years of life lost) + YLD (Years lost to disease) = DALY
1 DALY is equal to 1 year of healthy life lost.
