Treponema pallidum:
A
- causative agent of syphilis from direct contact with a lesion.
- primary stage (10-90 days). Painless lesion on genital membrane.
- had serous exudate
- secondary stage (2-12weeks) after primary. Rash, usually on palms and soles of feet.
- alopecia-hair loss
- usually latent period of (3-15years)
- tertiary stage:a gummas forms on the genital membrane, rubbery mass of tissue.
- treated with long lasting penicillin
