What is the relationship between human freedom and goodness/happiness?
Human freedom is ordered toward the good. The very purpose of human freedom is to choose and perform those good actions which will lead us to God, the ultimate source of all true and lasting happiness. It is better to view freedom as the capacity ultimately to find life in Christ. We enjoy the greatest true freedom when we choose to avoid sin and do the will of the Father.
What is the definition of Law?
Ordinance of reason that exists for the common good and is affirmed by legitimate authority.
Why are Law’s and Rule’s necessary?
Life would be dangerous without rules and laws to govern behavior, even on the level of sports and or driving to work. Without a developed body of law to keep order, society would fall into a chaos that would threaten the dignity and perhaps even the very life of every human person.
What are the 5 types of Law? (Extra points on the test if you can give a one sentence explanation for each).
Eternal Law, natural law, revealed law, ecclesiastical law, and Civil law.
