people are assessed to be either morally right or morally wrong (good/bad, virtuous/vicious)
moral rightness
an act morally right if it is permissible to perform the action (it is ok to perform morally speaking)
moral wrongness
an act is morally wrong if is is not permissible to perform that action (it is not ok to perform morally speaking)
moral obligation
an act is morally obligatory if it would be wrong not to perform the action (required by morality)
moral praiseworthiness
a person is morally praiseworthy if they are going to be commended for their actions
moral blameworthiness
a person is morally blameworthy if they are going to be rebuked for their actions
nihilism
there are no objective moral facts
cultural relativism
moral obligations depend upon one’s culture/society
religious morality
moral obligations are decided by a religious force
secular morality
moral truths are real and knowable through reason
moral luck
someone can be morally judged/assessed by factors beyond their control
