What is a verb mood?
Explains whether it’s a fact, opinion, command or possibility. There are six moods and they can be either personal or impersonal.
Personal Moods?
Conditonnel. Impératif. Indicatif. Subjonctif.
Impersonal Moods?
Infinitif. Participe.
Conditionnel
Conditionnel is a possibility, e.g. you would be happy
Imperatif
Imperatif is a command, e.g. be safe
Indicatif
Indicatif is a fact, e.g. you are smart
Subjonctif
Subjonctif is used when a sentence expresses any doubt, desire, necessity, possiblity and judgement
Infinitif
Infinitif is the original form of the verb, e.g. être/to be
Participe
Participe is adjectival verb form, e.g. being (adjectival verbs are verbs ending with “ing”, “ed” or “en”)
