Cognitive: grandiosity, distractible, accelerated thinking, impaired judgment & insight

How to manage bipolar disorder?

A

Acute mania: hospitalization, tranquilization (IM haloperidol or lorazepam) stop all antidepressant, increase lithium, give SGA & mood stabilizer
Acute depression: lamotrigine or aripriprazole
Maintenance: mood stabilizer or SGA
