no symptoms of myeloma or related malignancy

A bone marrow aspirate and biopsy must demonstrate fewer than 10 percent clonal plasma cells,

and

paraprotein less than 30g/L

no organ damage

Patients with MGUS should be followed over time with history and physical examination looking for signs and symptoms of progressive disease
