Molecules Flashcards
Something that is made of different parts that are held
together, a plant or animal, where each part has a specific
job that makes the whole thing
function.
Structures
The special job or purpose
that some thing does.
Function
The act of continuing to live or
exist.
Survival
The process of which a living
thing increases in size and mass.
Growth
Something on the outside of an
organism or living thing.
External
A characteristic of living things
that helps it survive in it
environment.
Adapted
The animal that eats the other
animals.
Predators
An animal that is eaten by other
animals.
Prey
The environment includes
everything living and nonliving
in an area.For example the
environment of a giraffe has grass, trees, water, other animals
and nonliving things like rocks and soil.
Environment
A home for animals and plants
were they can fined everything
they need to survive such as water, food and shelter in a specific place.
Habitat
A tiny group of building blocks
that are stuck together.
Molecules
Any living like a plant,animal
or even a tiny bacteria.
Organism
A signal or change in your
environment that make you
react.
Stimuli
All the physical surroundings on
earth.
Surroundings
A place were animals interactions impacts are minimal.
Natural Environment
The ways that the body receives
signals from the environment
and uses them to learn about,
explore and interact with the world.
Senses
When one or more animals send information to other animals that affect their behavior./smell/order/
temperature,etc.
Information Transfer
The processing by which animals receive information
from their environment process
it and responds to it.
Processing
The way the animal acts in order
to survive.
Behavioral Adaptations
The way an animal is made or
built to help them survive.
Structural Adaptations
A special quality or feature that
makes some thing different from other things.
Characteristics
Even though plants or animals
are the same type, they can have slightly different features
or traits, like different colors, sizes,or shapes, making each individual unique.
Variation
A group of living things that are
very similar to each other.
Species
When a living thing makes a
new living thing that looks like
itself.
Reproduce
A special feature or behavior
that a plant or animal has, which
helps it to survive in it’s environment.
Adaptations
State of deep sleep that animals
enter during winter to help them survive the cold and food
scarcity.
Hibernations
When a animal leaves their home environment to live in a new place based on environment conditions such
as weather when birds fly south
for the winter.
Migration
A pattern, color or shape that helps a living thing blend into
it’s environment. It is usually
used to help prey avoid predators or for predators not to be seen by prey.
Camouflage
The ability of an animal to perform a behavior automatically and without thinking in certain situations.
