Clarity
“The extent to which cues regarding work-related responsibilities or requirements are available and easy to understand.”
Consistency
“The extent to which cues regarding work-related responsibilities or requirements are compatible with each other.”
Consequences
“The extent to which decisions or actions have important positive or negative implications for a relevant person or entity.”
Constraints
“The extent to which an individual’s freedom of decision and action is limited by forces outside of his/her control.”
Whole trait theory
It outlines a process that explains how people can behave the same over time and also change in different situations.
Key principles whole trait theory
- Behavior is determined by both the situation and the stable individual differences
- People routinely experience the full range of personality
- People can be readily identified by their average levels of personality
- People can also be identified by the variability of their personalities across situations
