Module 7 Flashcards
Vasa Vasorum
Small vessels located over the surface of major arteries, especially in arteries exhibiting arteriosclerosis.
Linear Guide
Line drawn or visualized on the surface of the skin to represent the approximate location of some deeper lying structure
Anatomical Guide
Descriptive references for locating arteries and veins by means of the anatomical structures that are known
Anatomical Limit
Points of origin and points of termination in relation to adjacent structures. Used to designate the boundaries of arteries
Femoral Triangle
An anatomical guide composed of the inguinal ligament superiorly, medial border of the adductor longus muscle medially, and the medial border of the sartorius muscle. It is used to locate the location of the femoral artery
Adductor (Hunter’s) Canal
Serves as a passageway from structures moving between the anterior thigh and posterior leg. Contains femoral artery, femoral vein, and large nerves
