Module 6 Review Flashcards
What is a Codomain?
The codomain of a function is the set of all possible OUTPUT values that a function can produce (Not always in a straight line)
What is the domain?
The domain of a function is the set of all possible INPUT values
What’s a function?
each INPUT (x-value) corresponds to exactly one OUTPUT (y-value)
What does it mean to have all real numbers?
When the codomain is all real numbers, it means that the function’s output can be any real number, positive, negative or zero
What’s a one-to-one function?
If each element of the range is paired with exactly one element of the domain
What’s an Onto function?
If a function’s codomain is the same as its range
What’s a linear equation?
If all variables have a power of 1 and the equation forms a straight line
Y=2x+5
Liner, x has a power of 1
3x+2y=7
Liner, X and Y are the power of 1
y = x^2 + 3
Not liner, X has a power of 2
y = 1/x
Not liner, x is in the denominator, which is equivalent to x to the power of -1
y = 9x
Liner,
2x – 11y = 8
Liner
g(x) = |3x – 4|
Not Liner
yx = 5
Not liner
f(x) = 3x2 + 11
Not liner
How to find an x and y intercept in a table?
Get both sides to equal zero to find your X and Y intercepts
